This brings the total of inanimate objects that have been violated in the comic to 2.
I know there’s a very large number of people who really enjoy the Gran Turismo series. Tuning your car and driving in realistic (but damageless) races doesn’t appeal to me though. Those of you that are looking forward to it though, should be pretty psyched. The game is gorgeous and from all the previews, seems it will impress.

lol, it’s like episodic gaming cut into fourths. I think we are just becoming so impatient for games now thanks to the internet and people who go completely crazy everytime there’s a tiny delay (Duke Nukem fans being the exception, they have a right dang it).
Damageless for the moment. Sony has confirmed that sometime in the next six months prologue will get the damage update, and the full version of GT5 will ship with damage included. I am looking forward to slamming a ferrari enzo into a wall at 200mph in 1080p, it should be awesome.
And I do like the theme of the comic. And its funny you should mention Gears, gears was essentially a way for epic to capitalize on an incomplete UE3, it worked out great for them. How well would crackdown have sold if not for the halo (gaylo) 3 multiplayer beta? But look at EA’s strategy for BF: Bad Company, you have pay for extra guns… in an FPS! Now i have heard they have changed that decision due to a potential boycott of the game, but still.
I love the GT series, and i am very excited that i get to play a “trial version” if you can call it that, it has more features than most full games. GT has always been a great value for gamers. Its not like an FPS you can beat in a day. I sunk an entire summer into GT4 and still only got to 78% complete. But i do agree with the fact that you are charging near full price for a demo, albeit a very well featured demo. I am just looking forward to not having to wait another year and change for this game.
Awww man, that car IS pretty hot.
I know, eh. I had a pretty wild night with a jeep last night. At least I thought she was a jeep, then when things got really hot and heavy I find out she’s really an SUV. Boy howdy, was I embarrassed.
Those SUV’s are crafty, one second you are having fun with a tailpipe, then bam the driveshaft sneaks up behind you and your back side is covered in axle grease, not fun.
But in all seriousness, i got prologue yesterday. After a lengthy install and update i got to playing. The interface is clean and easy to navigate. There are plenty of car manufacturers to choose from when purchasing your first car, a much wider selection of actually decent cars for your first races that in previous iterations. I bought myself an integra type R. Once i hit the track in a race i was blown away. Graphically, well i don’t even have to tell anyone, you have all seen the screens. But the new gameplay and physics were mesmerizing. On the physics end you get a healthy speed boost from “drafting” up behind someone (as there is less air resistance because the car ahead of you pushed the air out of the way already), so that dynamic greatly changes your race strategy on the high speed sections of track. When you switch to the in car view its amazing. Its the closest thing to actually driving i have ever experienced, even beating arcade simulators. The biggest and most enjoyable upgrade has been the AI. The opponent vehicles actually make mistakes, or some really smart moves (they don’t just follow a line like in the previous games). In some instances they will try to block you from passing, which makes getting around them a very fun and challenging event.
All in all i am so far very impressed with the game. There is more effort put into this “demo” than most full games. Even though i am paying for a “demo” i am surely going to get my money’s worth out of this one. For those of you who aren’t “carophiles” the draw of this game is hard to explain. The thrill of taking a corner perfectly or shaving a quarter second off you lap time is what keeps going. I liken it to WoW or playing COD4 online. You play again and again to keep improving. I don’t have many hours logged in prologue (hehe) but will keep everyone up to date as i progress, if there is interest to hear it.
Hopefully i don’t lose my life to this game as i have to the previous iterations.
