I really feel that the guys at Blizzard must have had a meeting at some point and decided that they weren’t going to take any chances with their games from now on. The proof being Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2.
If you disagree, please take it up with me in the forums.

Fuck you. No one shits on Blizzard and gets away with it.
Meh, Blizzard is a money whore, and you Spaltzer sir, are a loser for buying Blizzard games.
PS. I’m only joking, but seriously, get a life.
You have to admit, both games look like the previous ones with new graphics engines and storylines.
Not exactly an encouraging reason to buy.
Blizzard doesn’t crap gold people, innovation was what made the company great in the first place, quality won’t replace that forever.
Both games look like previous ones with updated graphics?
I hope they are. Starcraft is still an insanely fun game to play multiplayer, only problem being the horridly outdated graphics. Diablo II as well, graphics suck but i’ve always enjoyed playing the game.
Sure, they’re “safe” games, but they are what the fans have wanted for so long. About time they both happened. Only problem I forsee is them being released too late.
Are you sure?
Because, see, that’s how I felt when I got Mario Kart Wii. Or Warcraft 3. Or Diablo 2.
They are wonderful games, IF it’s your first time playing them.
Starcraft was incredible, I agree. And most likely it has to do with what you like as a gamer. Some people can play the same game for years and keep enjoying it. Me, I need a bit more innovation, a new feel to the game. I haven’t even unlocked all the karts in Mario Kart, and I was looking forward to that game so much. Warcraft 3 was terrible in my opinion…it felt like Starcraft all over again, but worse; once I finished the single player game (to be fair, it wasn’t bad), the replay value was gone. Why would I play War 3 online when I had already spent so much time playing Starcraft online?
Anyways, not putting down your opinions, if that’s what you like, more power to you! I just don’t think this strategy will work forever.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, that i believe in. but please be more mature in voicing out your opinion. i agree that diablo3 and starcraft2 is being played safe by blizzard but does it mean that i wont play it? no. why? because i feel that they are good games and good games are meant to be played. also, blizzard is currently working on a probable new IP, this in itself shows that Blizzard knows that they are stagnating. another thing to note is that the original Blizzard owner have moved away from Blizzard. Bill Roper for instance have moved to Champions-online. the only reason Blizzard still stands around is due to the fact that they have been giving out quality products to the consumers and that for me is worth everything in the world.
