I’ve been playing Transformers: War For Cybertron on PS3 and it reminded me of a thought I had during the second Transformers movie. Namely that the savagery depicted by robots would be considered unconscionably brutal were it done by humans.
But it’s been that way for many moons now. Lasers were always much more common than real guns in kids’ cartoons. A robot can get blown up, circuitry and wires flying this way and that no problem, but if it were the blood and viscera of a human being the censors would be up in arms.
I’d recommend at the very least renting T:WFC, by the way. It’s a lot of fun.

You’re darn right it’s fun! Best Transformers game ever made. Too bad you weren’t playing it on 360.. I would challenge you to death!
They don’t care as long as it isn’t real. Another good example is the American version of Fallout 3 to the Aussie one, they replaced the real drug with a fake one.
Well, when you say “give me your face” to a human, it means a very different thing. Not, like, a better or a worse thing, but a DIFFERENT thing.
