HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!
Thanks on this one to James for the basic concept, Sony for Pain on the PS3 (which is pretty fun), and Luke and Steve for help retooling and with the punchline. This comic is really the most collaborative I've ever done, besides the first. Also there are now as many comics as years I am old. It feels weird to think I (and the people that have helped me) created this ever growing body of work that people are enjoying. Also with 21 comics now, as I've published every week, there are 5 months worth of comics on Of Noobs And Men now. I definately don't see myself slowing down any time soon.
Weathers been crazy in Southern Ontario lately eh? It's cold as balls out there.
Have you tried playing Halo 3 online recently? It's like eveyone found the 'Rape' button on their controllers somehow and are using it libererally on me when I try and play. In other news: only 21 more sleeps till Christmas!

Dave's Game Reviews MASS EFFECT
Well here we are again another review, this time for a gem of a game.
First things first, heres the non technical run down. This game has just beat out every other game on my top 5 to become my most favoritest game EVAR, and it doesnt even have multiplayer (note I dont consider that a bonus or a minus I just like to poke fun at people who won't touch anything without it, which I dispise because multiplay isn't everything people!).
Now I'll get into the why it is now my hands down favorite, I believe I can sum it up in one word. STORY, seriously this game is proof video games are a valid medium for story telling.
Don't really want to give this game a numerical value, as I find giving one to my previously mention favorite game of all time may be bias/hard/pointless. But I will give it....
out of
Yes, that'll do nicely.
Well on with some specifics.
Graphics:
Top notch, great in every aspect, if you like to nit pick sometimes the armour textures and stuff take a second or two to load up but to be expected with a game so massive. No other glitches that I found.
Sound/Music:
Wonderful sound effects, FULL voice acting (Seth Green plays your pilot), nice music, solid department.
Story:
Big winner in this game, as I said deep and EPIC story line, love the universe love it all, don't want to ruin any of it tho, but if you like sci-fi epics, you'll love it.
Gameplay:
Hybrid Shooter/RPG, done as well as I've seen so far. Shooting aspect is smooth and fast paced, hold down the right shoulder (or bumper but that name sucks, seriously Microsoft c'mon) and a list of you and your squad members abilities come up, use the looking/aiming joystick to pin point where those abilities will be used and select which to use. All 3 can be given orders at once, baring they arnt blocked from sight of the target. The Mako (your APC) is fun way to get around in the games many levels. I've bugged it once by making it stand vertical in a low tunnel (dont ask me how damnit!) but thats it.
Controls:
Responsive, well mapped (I was iffy with the back button being used for gernades but it was fine after i got used to it). The guns at first can be a bit unruly (specialy the sniper) but get much better with skill upgrades, better guns, and attachments for the guns, making em handle and shoot like a dream. Squad commands are not too bad, simple, I barely used em tho, the AI did most of the work for me (the controlling them aspect not beating the game lol).
Overall:
Not sure what else to say... It's amazing in every category: it's fun, it's long (tons of side quests, 6 starting classes with class upgrade in the game, choice between 2, 2 you can choose is based on starting class, and multiple difficulty levels).
Final Thought:
If you have a XBOX 360 get this game, get it now, and don't look back.
Heard it's to be a trilogy across the life of the 360, with content in between the game releases. I CANNOT wait for the next game.
Instant Game Of The Year, no contest. Move aside Bioshock and Halo 3.
